Riverfest Weekend
Canoe & Kayak Challenge
Saturday, July 9th at 10:00 a.m.
The races will take place on the headwaters of the Nanticoke River in Seaford, DE as part of the 17th annual Nanticoke Riverfest. The course distance (which remains the same as in the past) is 7.5 miles (out and back) starting and ending near the location of most of the activities of Riverfest, including the popular Nanticoke Float-In.

Vince Morris Memorial 5K Run
Saturday, July 9 at 8:00 a.m. Beginning at Cedar Avenue
The Vince Morris Memorial 5K Cross Country Race will take place on Saturday, July 9. This year’s race will begin along Cedar Avenue, following a specified path to the Ross Mansion and back again. Registration (race-day only at $15) starts at 8:00 a.m. and the race starts at 9:00 a.m.

It’s back -- the 6th Annual CAT COUNTRY "Delmarva Star" Competition returns in 2011 with your chance to become a STAR! We’ll be headed to some of Delmarva’s biggest festivals and events to once again give one lucky person the chance to be this year’s "Delmarva Star!

Riverfest Pageants
Friday, July 8th at 5:30 p.m. at Main Stage
The Little Miss and Junior Miss Riverfest Pageant will take place this year on Friday, July 8th, at 5:30 p.m. The Pageant will be held on the main stage in the Mt. Olivet Church parking lot. It will include 20 contestants divided into two categories: Little Miss (Ages 3-6) and Junior Miss (Ages 7-10). All contestants have previously been registered.

Downtown Seaford Treasure Hunt
Saturday, July 9th from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The Downtown Seaford Association encourages all visitors to the Nanticoke Riverfest to participate in the Treasure Map search. Maps can be picked up at the information booth beginning at 9 a.m. on Saturday, July 9 and are due back at 3 p.m.

Hidden Idol Challenge
As part of the 2011 "Duckin' The Heat on the Nanticoke" Nanticoke Riverfest event the infamous hidden idol will been hidden for our patrons. This year's clues have not been issued yet, but they will be soon, with more chances to win, so check back periodically! [READ MORE]

Downtown Seaford Decorating Contest
For the fourth year, the Downtown Seaford Association invites all members to participate in a Riverfest inspired decorating contest. All entries must be consistent with this year’s theme, “Duckin' The Heat on the Nanticoke.” Decorations may be internal or external, but must be seen from outside. Judging will take place on July 6 or 7, weather permitting, by Seaford Mayor and Council or their appointees. [READ MORE]

Youth Fishing Tournament
Saturday, July 9th at 9:00 a.m.
One of the most popular events for kids and families is the youth fishing tournament along the banks of the Nanticoke River at the end of Water Street. The tournament (starting at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday) is open to youth in the following age groups: 3-6; 7-11 and 12-16.

Hoober Pedal Tractor Pull
Saturday, July 9th at 2:00 p.m.
Hoober has once again agreed to provide their pedal tractor pull contest at this year’s Riverfest. As in previous years, the contest will take place at the intersection of High and Market Streets with registration beginning at 2 p.m.

Would you like to be a Part of the Nanticoke Riverfest 2012?
The Riverfest committee is seeking volunteers to help with the event before, during and after the festivities. Specific duties include helping with the children’s programs, setting-up and taking-down equipment, to work the information booths, serving on the trash crew and in many other capacities. Many positions are available depending on your abilities and time constraints. Contact the Nanticoke Riverfest for more details.
