The local chapter of
Rotary International is proud to sponsor a dunking
booth at the annual Seaford Riverfest. The proceeds
from the booth are used to help support our two
Rotary Houses. In addition it gives the community an
opportunity to dunk several of our local politicians
and community leaders. We encourage you to come out
and try your hand at dunking.
Confirmed participants
in this year’s dunking booth include Seaford City
Councilman Bill Bennett, State Representative Danny
Short, and State Representative Dave Wilson. Stop by
the booth periodically through the day to see who
else will make their appearance in the dunking
booth.
In 1990, the Rotary
club built our first transitional shelter. Through
many fund raising events and volunteer hours, the
Rotary club purchased land and built the houses debt
free. The rotary club maintains both buildings, and
provides rent free accommodations for up to three
months while Social Services works with them to
re-establish self-sufficiency, including a savings
program. We are honored to provide this much needed
services to our community! |
