Local Road Closures
Riverfest Weekend
There are several street closures to be aware of during Riverfest weekend.

Expect detours around High Street in downtown Seaford on Thursday, July 7 starting at 3 p.m. through the weekend.

Beginning at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, only vendors will be allowed on the street. Parked cars will be asked to leave High Street and the Mount Olivet Parking lot at noon on Friday. High Street will remain closed until approximately 11:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 9.

The following streets will be closed
Handicapped parking will be available off Cannon Street in the Regional Builders parking lot.

Thursday Evening

  • Market Street from King Street to High Street. The street will be closed from 3-9:30 p.m.

Friday Evening

  • High Street from Cedar Avenue to Market Street; Market Street (commonly known as Market Street hill) from High Street to the north side of the Seaford-Blades Bridge starting at 3:30 p.m. on Friday and closed the entire Riverfest until 11:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Saturday

  • The Seaford-Blades Bridge will be closed to vehicular traffic at 6 a.m. and remain closed until 11:30 p.m., but the Blades Causeway will remain open on the Blades side.
  • Market Street from E. King Street to the Seaford-Blades Bridge will be closed as well as Front Street from High Street to the Seaford-Blades Bridge.
  • Water Street and S. North Street will also be closed on Saturday.
  • King Street will be one way west from Front Street to Cedar Avenue and E. Poplar St. will be one-way east from Cedar Ave. to Front Street. Detour signs will be posted. No parking will be allowed on King Street to allow a route for emergency vehicles.
  • The Seaford-Blades Bridge will be manned to facilitate boat traffic and other activities planned on the river.
Would you like to be a Part of the Nanticoke Riverfest 2012?
The Riverfest committee is seeking volunteers to help with the event before, during and after the festivities. Specific duties include helping with the children’s programs, setting-up and taking-down equipment, to work the information booths, serving on the trash crew and in many other capacities. Many positions are available depending on your abilities and time constraints. Contact the Nanticoke Riverfest for more details.
