Fishing Rodeo @ Nanticoke Riverfest

The Nanticoke Fishing Rodeo is a fishing tournament that takes place on the Nanticoke River during the annual Nanticoke Riverfest in Seaford, DE. The event is July 8th, 2023, 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., launching at the Seaford Boat Ramp; that will allow both amateur and professional anglers from around the region to compete. The main targets of the event are Largemouth Bass and Northern Snakehead, which are abundant in the Nanticoke River.

Bass fishing is a popular sport in the United States, and the Nanticoke River is known for its excellent bass fishing opportunities! The river is home to largemouth bass, which can grow to impressive sizes. Anglers at the Nanticoke Fishing Rodeo will have the opportunity to catch these bass using a variety of techniques, including topwater baits, jigs, and crankbaits.

In addition to bass fishing, the Nanticoke Fishing Rodeo also targets snakehead, a non-native species that has become established in the Nanticoke River in recent years. Snakehead are prized by anglers for their aggressive fighting style and excellent table fare. Anglers at the Nanticoke Fishing Rodeo will have the opportunity to catch these elusive fish using a variety of techniques, including topwater lures, soft plastics, and other artificial lures.

There will be awards in 3 categories: longest 5 fish overall, biggest bass, and biggest snakehead. Cash prizes for each category will be awarded as well as giveaways from our sponsors: Cast of Nasties Baits, Rumblefish Baits, Old Skool Tackle Company, Addiction Baits, Eagle Wingz Hot Sauce, DelMade, and Impact Graphics.
